A three-day Capacity Building Workshop for Misereor Partner Organisations on Safe Environment for Vulnerable Groups in India against Sexual Abuse and Exploitation was successfully conducted from 3rd to 5th December 2025 at KKID, Anaikatti. The workshop brought together participants from various partner organisations to strengthen the understanding and application of safeguarding, organisational development, and strategic networking.The first day focused on the foundational aspects of safeguarding and well-being. Key sessions covered: Robustness and Effective Safeguarding Guidelines, Core Principles of Sensitization, Psycho-Social Support and the Culture of Giving Feedback, The 5 C’s of Mental Health, Core Counselling Skills and Social Support Systems.These sessions helped participants deepen the understanding of how to create safer environments and promote a supportive culture within their organisations.Day two centred on organisational strengthening in the area of safeguarding. Participants engaged in: Contextualising Safeguarding Frameworks, Mapping Existing Safeguarding Structures within their Organisations, Discussions on Advocacy, Lobbying, Networking, and Campaigning.The day enabled organisations to identify gaps, streamline processes, and reinforce safeguarding mechanisms aligned with their operational realities.The final day focused on strategic collaboration and long-term planning. Sessions included: Networking for Stronger Partnerships, Introduction to Theory of Change & Drafting Organisational Theory of Change Models. Participants worked in groups to design draft Theory of Change models that will guide future programmes and interventions.The workshop concluded with a reaffirmation of collective responsibility towards safeguarding, mental well-being, and organisational excellence.
