A Mandatory Safeguarding Orientation was conducted at SMSSS – Shivamogga on September 29, 2025, at Chaitanya, Shivamogga. A total of 56 participants attended the session and enhanced their knowledge and understanding of the importance of safeguarding.Safeguarding is the responsibility of every organization to ensure that its staff, affiliates, programs, and operations protect the rights and dignity of all individuals—especially children and vulnerable adults—to live free from abuse and harm. The organization reaffirmed its strong commitment to safeguarding and strengthening related policies and practices.The training programme aimed to build a culture of safeguarding against all forms of harassment, exploitation, and abuse. It emphasized prevention, identification, reporting, and redressal mechanisms to ensure the safety of children and vulnerable adults, both within and outside the DSSS, particularly those at risk.The session also promoted safeguarding as a culture of vigilance, supported by: a culture of diligence (safer staff recruitment),a culture of quality (teaching and learning),a culture of respect (equality and diversity), and a culture of safety (health and well-being).
