An orientation programme on Safeguarding was conducted for the staff members of SMSSS, Shivamogga, with the objective of creating awareness and building understanding of safeguarding principles and practices. The programme aimed to sensitize staff to their roles and responsibilities in ensuring a safe, respectful, and protective environment for all.The orientation witnessed the active participation of over 50 staff members. The session focused on introducing the core concepts of safeguarding, including the meaning and importance of safeguarding, recognizing different forms of abuse, prevention strategies, and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining ethical conduct and promoting a culture of safety and accountability within the institution.The session was interactive and informative, allowing participants to clarify doubts and reflect on real-life situations related to safeguarding. The orientation helped staff members gain a clearer understanding of safeguarding policies and reinforced their commitment to upholding the safety and well-being of all individuals associated with SMSSS.
